I’m a freelance reporter based in Atlanta. I’ve filed stories for The New York Times, This American Life, NPR, The Guardian, Reveal, The Bitter Southerner, and variety of other publications.
By choice, my reporting is varied. I’ve covered everything from international trade disputes, to political scandals, school shootings, and college football. In Atlanta, I uncovered that throughout the 1990s the FBI worked with a paid informant who was also a murderer accused of killing as many as 50 people. In Ahmedabad, India I tracked down telefraudsters. My investigations into Georgia voting policies prompted legislative reform.
I occasionally lead audio documentary projects distributed as podcasts. Noble, an eight episode podcast I produced about wrongdoing at a crematory in northwest Georgia, reached #1 on the Apple Podcast charts, and was named the best podcast of 2024 by The New Yorker. Currently, I’m producing, writing, and editing a six episode podcast for Wondery and Campside Media about a series of wrongful convictions in a major American city.
I began my career at NPR in Washington D.C., where I worked on shows like Morning Edition, Weekend Edition, and Tell Me More. After moving to Georgia, I reported for the public radio station WABE. I was a fellow with the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University, and I graduated from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana, where I helped manage the radio station on campus.
